What is more beautiful than a garden?  For thirty years, Pamela Cassidy has brought the garden indoors through her paintings.  As a young mother of four, she realized she was able to sit at home to raise her children with a baby on her lap at her dining room table -was still able to paint.  This was the beginning of her own cottage industry and local stores were eager to carry her one of-a-kind hand painted items.  Pam had no formal artistic training but her lifelong love of flowers and nature inspired her painter’s palette.  As her four beautiful children grew, so did her following.  

 

    In the summer of 1996, she and her husband, Jim, opened Cassidy & Company, a charming gift shop in Madison, NJ.  As one customer once wrote to her, “When I am in the need of a moment of loveliness, I know that I can merely pause in the doorway of Cassidy & Company and savor the delicate home furnishings and accents, absorbing poetry into my soul.”  Almost everyday one would see through the window another colorful creation done in her own free romantic style.  After eight years and a desire to expand her business, the shop was sold and a new company was born.  

 

    In the summer of 2004, Pam and her daughters, Bailey, Meghann, and Devon formed Pamela Cassidy Designs.  Her daughters; co-owners and also designer-artists, are passionate about this growing company.  The business began with their artwork on linens -kitchen towels and guest towels and has grown to include stationery and totes.  Pam considers herself truly blessed -”I am working with my daughters and doing something that I love to do!”
